Tremors measuring 5.4 on the Richter scale were felt across Islamabad, several areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and parts of Punjab, causing panic among residents.
According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department, the earthquake had a magnitude of 5.4 and occurred at a depth of 215 kilometers. Its epicenter was located in the Hindu Kush region of Afghanistan.
The tremors were reported in Islamabad, Peshawar, Battagram, Swat, Abbottabad and surrounding areas, prompting many people to leave their homes and offices as a precaution.
Rescue 1122 issued an emergency advisory, urging citizens to immediately contact emergency services in case of any untoward incident.
According to the Provincial Disaster Management Authority, tremors were also felt in Lahore, Rawalpindi, Attock, Chakwal, Mianwali, Multan, the Potohar region and several other districts of Punjab.
Officials said no casualties or property damage had been reported so far.
Authorities continue to monitor the situation and have advised citizens to remain cautious and follow safety guidelines.
