DG ISPR Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry has said that Indian-backed proxies are involved in recent terrorist attacks in Balochistan, while the Afghan Taliban regime is facilitating these terrorist elements.
Briefing the media on the security situation in Balochistan, the DG ISPR said three major terrorist incidents had taken place in the province during the past four days.
He said 54 terrorists were killed in operations conducted by security forces and law enforcement agencies, while 42 people were martyred defending the country.
The DG ISPR said terrorists linked to Fitna al-Khawarij targeted innocent civilians to achieve their malicious objectives, but the brave people of Balochistan and police personnel fought them courageously.
According to the DG ISPR, terrorists attacked civilians in Hanna Urak, where local residents bravely confronted the attackers and forced them to leave the area. Four civilians were martyred and six others were injured.
He said the second incident occurred on July 6 near a police checkpoint at the Mangi Dam pumping station.
Police personnel fought the terrorists and killed 15 militants, while nine police officers were martyred during the fighting.
The DG ISPR said terrorists took police personnel hostage before security forces reached the area and left behind the bodies of 15 militants.
He said security forces carefully tightened the cordon around the terrorists because police personnel were being held hostage.
According to the DG ISPR, security forces had been engaging the terrorists in the mountains of Ziarat since July 6. As the cordon tightened, the terrorists killed 18 hostage police personnel.
He said the deaths of 11 terrorists had been confirmed during the engagement, although the actual number could be higher.
The DG ISPR said 27 police personnel had been martyred and 26 terrorists killed in connection with the Mangi checkpoint incident.
He said the third incident occurred in Bela, where a military convoy engaged BLA terrorists.
Fourteen terrorists were killed in the fighting, while one junior commissioned officer and 10 soldiers were martyred.
Operations were also conducted in Kharan and Dalbandin, where six terrorists were killed in Kharan and eight in Dalbandin.
The DG ISPR said a total of 54 terrorists had been killed in operations by law enforcement agencies and actions against terrorists and their facilitators were continuing.
He said enemies of Pakistan’s prosperity and development were behind these terrorist incidents.
The DG ISPR alleged that the attacks were being carried out with the backing of India and forces that could not tolerate Pakistan’s stability and dignity.
He said Afghan territory was being used for terrorism and most of the terrorists killed in recent incidents were Afghan nationals.
According to the DG ISPR, three of the four attackers involved in the Karachi incident were Afghan terrorists and these elements were being facilitated by the Afghan Taliban regime.
He said the state had followed a clear policy for the past three years and had made it clear that Fitna al-Hindustan had no connection with Balochistan or Baloch identity, while Fitna al-Khawarij had no connection with Islam.
The DG ISPR said terrorists would be pursued and targeted continuously.
He stressed that Pakistan and Balochistan are here to stay and every terrorist and facilitator would be pursued.
He said the people, armed forces and law enforcement agencies are fighting terrorism at every moment and will ultimately succeed in the fight.
