The Kuwaiti military has confirmed that four personnel were injured after an Iranian attack targeted a Kuwaiti naval vessel.
In a statement, the Kuwaiti military said that a Kuwaiti naval ship was targeted on Tuesday, resulting in injuries to four service members. It added that all the injured personnel received immediate medical treatment and are in stable condition.
According to the Kuwaiti military, the armed forces successfully intercepted one ballistic missile, four cruise missiles, and 33 drones on Tuesday. The statement said the attacks were intended to target several key military and civilian installations.
The military further stated that debris from the intercepted missiles and drones caused material damage after falling in different areas.
It is worth noting that Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) had earlier announced that it had targeted enemy weapons depots in Bahrain and Kuwait.
The IRGC also claimed that it had targeted a drone launching pad at Ali Al Salem Air Base in Kuwait, describing the strikes as a response to recent US attacks on Iran.
In its statement, the IRGC further said that as long as what it described as the “aggressor United States” remains present in the region, oil and gas will not leave the region, adding that US actions would result in nothing except further delays in the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz.
