Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi has denied the existence of any “Imran Khan Release Force” in a written reply submitted to the Federal Constitutional Court in a case related to the alleged organization.
The eight-page response, filed through the Advocate General, states that no such force was ever established. Instead, it says the initiative in question is the “Imran Khan Release Peace Movement,” which is described as a peaceful, unarmed and voluntary movement with no armed structure or militant component.
The reply further argues that the constitutional petition is based on political motives, misrepresentation and assumptions, making it premature and not maintainable. It also states that the petitioner has failed to establish any violation of fundamental rights.
The chief minister has requested the court to dismiss the petition at the preliminary stage and declare the Imran Khan Release Peace Movement constitutional and lawful.
The Federal Constitutional Court has scheduled the next hearing in the case for July 29.
