The Sindh government has decided to establish a modern provincial data centre in collaboration with the National Telecommunication Corporation (NTC) as part of its efforts to promote digital transformation and strengthen e-governance across the province.
The decision was made during a meeting between Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah and NTC Managing Director retired Major General Ali Farhan at the Chief Minister’s House.
The meeting was attended by Special Assistant to the Chief Minister on Information Technology Muhammad Ali Rashid, Planning and Development Board Chairman Bilal Memon, NTC General Manager South Muhammad Irfan, Director Development South Ataur Rehman Malik and other senior officials.
According to officials, a high-level committee will be established to determine the project’s implementation framework. The committee will decide whether the initiative should be carried out through a public-private partnership model or assigned to the NTC on a contractual basis.
Officials described the project as an important step towards improving the efficiency, security and modernization of government services while accelerating the growth of digital governance in Sindh.
