Islamabad: The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) has amended the Solar Regulations 2026 and transferred the authority to approve solar systems of up to 25 kilowatts to power distribution companies.
According to a notification issued by NEPRA, consumers installing solar systems of up to 25 kilowatts will no longer be required to obtain approval directly from the regulator.
The notification stated that the relevant electricity distribution companies will have the authority to approve such applications.
The regulator has also introduced the necessary amendments to the Solar Regulations 2026 to implement the new mechanism.
