Fresh details have emerged in the Mir Raza case, with investigators claiming that acid was used on the victim’s face and hands in an apparent attempt to conceal his identity.
According to investigation sources, forensic examinations of the victim’s clothing and other evidence indicated signs of acid burns on parts of the body.
Meanwhile, the newly constituted committee formed to investigate the case is scheduled to hold its first meeting today, where officials will review all aspects of the investigation.
The five member panel is headed by DIG Amir Farooqi, while SSP Ali Raza has been appointed as the committee’s secretary.
According to the preliminary medical report issued after the exhumation of Mir Raza’s body, he suffered a gunshot wound from behind, while signs of physical abuse were also found.
The report further stated that evidence of fractures to the jaw and right thigh had been discovered, along with blood stains on tissue samples taken from the lower part of the body.
Authorities say the investigation remains under way, and final conclusions will be drawn after the completion of forensic examinations.
