Islamabad: Pakistan has rejected claims by India’s Ministry of External Affairs regarding the alleged demolition of a Hindu temple in Adda Siraj, Narowal, calling them false and politically motivated.
Foreign Office spokesperson Sajjad Haider Khan said the Hindu temple building in Adda Siraj was damaged by heavy rainfall on July 21.
He said local authorities in Narowal had assessed the rain-related damage to the temple and steps had already been initiated for the restoration of the building.
The Foreign Office spokesperson described the Indian Ministry of External Affairs’ claims as false and politically motivated, accusing India of distorting facts and resorting to what he called cheap tactics.
Khan said distorting facts could not divert attention from alleged abuses against minorities in India.
He further said India had a poor record regarding attacks on minorities and their places of worship, adding that the world was aware of the use of Hindutva ideology against minority communities.
The spokesperson said the Indian leadership should be held accountable for alleged persecution of Muslims, Sikhs and Christians.
