London: Global oil prices continued to rise amid escalating tensions in the Middle East and growing concerns over potential disruptions to energy supplies, with Murban crude reaching $122 per barrel.
According to a British media report, Murban crude was trading at $122 per barrel in the international market.
Brent crude gained another 1% on Thursday to reach $108.68 per barrel.
US West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude also climbed to its highest level since mid-May.
According to the report, WTI settled 6.7% higher at $103 per barrel.
The latest surge in oil prices comes amid growing concerns over global energy supplies following reports that Yemen’s Houthis had seized the port city of Mokha and that more vessels had been targeted in the Strait of Hormuz.
