Ten militants were killed while six Pakistan Army soldiers were martyred during separate security operations in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), 10 militants were killed in different clashes across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa between September 15 and 17.
The ISPR said security forces conducted an intelligence-based operation in North Waziristan and effectively targeted a militant hideout.
According to the military’s media wing, six militants affiliated with Fitna al-Khawarij and operating with Indian support were killed during an intense exchange of fire. Four more militants were killed during an operation in Hangu district.
The ISPR said a security forces convoy was targeted with an improvised explosive device on September 17, resulting in the martyrdom of six brave soldiers who laid down their lives defending the motherland.
Weapons and ammunition were also recovered from the slain militants, who were involved in several terrorist activities in the area.
The ISPR said a clearance operation was continuing to eliminate other possible militants in the area. It added that the sacrifices of the brave soldiers further strengthened the resolve to protect the country’s security and safety at all costs.
