Two-time world boxing champion Zolani Tete has been shot dead in South Africa, with police arresting four suspects in connection with his killing.
According to police, the South African boxer was shot outside his home on Friday.
A woman who was with Tete was also injured in the shooting and was taken to hospital for medical treatment.
Police have launched an investigation into the killing and arrested four people on suspicion of involvement in Tete’s death. Further investigations into the incident are underway.
Tete was one of South Africa’s prominent professional boxers and held world titles in two different periods during his career.
He was the International Boxing Federation junior bantamweight champion from 2014 to 2015.
Tete later held the World Boxing Organization bantamweight title from 2017 to 2019.
