The All Pakistan Petrol Pump Owners Association has said it has not been informed about the mechanism for implementing the government’s Rs100-per-litre fuel subsidy for motorcycles and small cars.
Association chairman Humayun Khan said petrol pump owners had no information about how the Rs100 subsidy package would operate.
He warned that the lack of clarity could lead to disputes between customers and petrol pump owners over the subsidised fuel.
Association General Secretary Nauman Butt also raised questions about the implementation mechanism, saying the government had announced the subsidy but had not explained how petrol pump owners would be reimbursed for the amount.
The government has announced a Rs100-per-litre fuel subsidy for motorcycles and cars with engines of up to 800cc, with implementation beginning in Islamabad.
