Field Marshal Asim Munir Visits Peshawar Corps Headquarters, Receives Security Briefing

Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir has said that the armed forces are committed to defeating terrorism and ensuring lasting peace and stability in the country.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir visited the Peshawar Corps Headquarters, where the Peshawar corps commander received the Chief of Defence Forces.

The ISPR said the field marshal was briefed on the current security situation in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, ongoing counterterrorism operations, border-management measures and the operational preparedness of formations deployed in the province.

Field Marshal Asim Munir directed the formations to remain alert and maintain the highest standards of operational readiness. He said the great sacrifices of the martyrs who laid down their lives for the country would never be forgotten.

He praised the high morale, preparedness and professional capabilities of the officers and troops. The field marshal laid a floral wreath and offered Fateha at the Martyrs’ Memorial.

According to the ISPR, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir paid rich tribute to the martyrs.
