Special Assistant to the Prime Minister, Ata Tarar, has stated that the £190 million national historic corruption scandal is a result of Imran Khan’s lack of cooperation in the investigations.
Speaking at a press conference in Islamabad, Ata Tarar said that Imran Khan appeared before NAB today in the Al-Qadir Trust case, but in the past, he did not provide the desired response to NAB notices.
He accused Imran Khan of not cooperating in the investigations, not producing the requested record in court, and taking undue advantage of guarantees.
Ata Tarar stated that the Al-Qadir Trust scandal involving £190 million is the biggest corruption scandal in the country’s history. The £190 million was meant to go into the national treasury, but Imran Khan approved it without showing it to the Cabinet. The £190 million was returned because it was meant for public welfare.
Muslim League-N leader further added that the money brought back from abroad was not deposited into the national treasury; instead, in return for this hushed-up affair, Imran Khan was given 458 kanals of land as a bribe. The signatures of Imran’s wife and Farah Dogar are present on the documents of Al-Qadir Trust.
He stated that government and military properties were burnt to hide corruption, and billions of rupees belonging to the country and the nation have been looted. Now, propaganda is being used to cover up the corruption. After presenting all the evidence, Imran Khan cannot escape punishment in the Al-Qadir Trust case.
