The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) has proposed a reduction in the prices of petroleum products, which has been sent to the federal government for approval.
According to sources, OGRA has recommended a decrease of 5 to 10 rupees per liter in the price of petrol. OGRA has shared the proposal regarding petroleum product prices with the federal government.
Sources have stated that a reduction of up to 10 rupees per liter has also been suggested for diesel prices. OGRA has mentioned that the prices of petrol and diesel can be maintained as well. Finance Minister Ishaq Dar will consult with Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif on OGRA’s recommendations.
Sources have revealed that a final decision regarding the prices of petroleum products will be made today. The new prices of petroleum products will be applicable after midnight at 12 o’clock for the next 15 days.
It should be noted that in the past 14 days, the price of crude oil has reached a record high of $76.95 per barrel.
