The intensity of heat continues to rise in Karachi, with forecasts indicating even hotter and more humid weather over the next 24 hours.
According to the Meteorological Department, temperatures may reach up to 39°C, while the feel-like temperature could soar to 45°C.
A spokesperson for the Meteorological Department stated that sea breezes are expected to remain suspended during the daytime, leading to increased solar heat. Currently, the temperature in the city is recorded at 34°C, but it feels as high as 39°C.
It was further reported that westerly winds are blowing at a speed of 18 km/h, while the humidity level has climbed to 56%, causing extreme discomfort and sweating among residents.
Health experts have advised citizens to avoid going out in the sun unnecessarily, wear light and loose-fitting clothes, and drink plenty of water to prevent the harmful effects of the heat.
