The General Authority overseeing the affairs of Masjid al-Haram and Masjid al-Nabawi in Saudi Arabia has urged Umrah pilgrims and worshippers to adhere strictly to safety guidelines during rainfall.
According to a report by the Saudi news agency, the safety instructions include staying in designated safe areas, using umbrellas, monitoring weather alerts, following official instructions, and turning off mobile phones during lightning storms. For any queries or reports, visitors can contact the helpline at 1966.
The Haramain administration, in collaboration with several government agencies, implements emergency response plans during rain to ensure the safety of worshippers in Masjid al-Haram. The primary objective of these guidelines is to provide a secure environment for pilgrims during their religious duties.
Meanwhile, residents of GCC countries planning international travel with a layover in Saudi Arabia can now take advantage of a free stopover visa, allowing them to perform Umrah during transit.
This visa is available only to travelers flying with Saudia Airlines or flynas, and it facilitates combining long-haul travel with a spiritual journey to Makkah or Madinah for Umrah or Ziyarat.
The Saudi transit or stopover visa permits a stay of up to 96 hours (four days) in the Kingdom. While the visa itself is free, a nominal fee is charged for processing and mandatory medical insurance.
