The donkey census in Pakistan has been completed, with the latest figures showing Punjab leading the list, while Balochistan has the lowest donkey population.
According to the government’s latest Agriculture Census Report, Punjab has 2.403 million donkeys, significantly higher than all other provinces. Sindh ranks second with 1.081 million donkeys, while Khyber Pakhtunkhwa holds third place with 782,000.
Balochistan has recorded 630,000 donkeys, the lowest among all provinces, while the federal capital, Islamabad, reported only 4,000 donkeys.
The data shows that Punjab has 1.773 million more donkeys than Balochistan, 1.621 million more than Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and 1.322 million more than Sindh.
The 2024 Agriculture Census Report also states that the total number of donkeys in the country has reached 4.9 million, marking an increase compared to previous years.
