Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has said that true progress will be seen when practical development work begins for Karachi. He stated that discussions have been held with the federal government on development projects for the city. He emphasized that all initiatives must be carried out in accordance with the 18th Amendment to ensure provincial rights and public interest are protected.
Speaking to the media in Karachi, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said that Shaheed Benazir Bhutto was always the voice of the poor. She stood firm against terrorism and ultimately sacrificed her life in the service of the people. He recalled the 2007 attack on the PPP convoy at Karsaz but noted that Benazir Bhutto continued her struggle despite the threats.
Bilawal said that the PPP remains committed to carrying forward the political vision and philosophy of Shaheed Benazir Bhutto. He added that the party’s Central Executive Committee is holding a meeting today to discuss the current political situation and chart the future course of action.
He also described recent developments in the Middle East as a major success, saying the region’s evolving situation is being closely monitored. On Gaza, he expressed cautious optimism, noting that while there is hope, concerns remain, and the international community must play its part in ensuring sustainable peace.
