Chairman of the Pakistan Peoples Party, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, has said that climate change, global conflicts, and economic inequality are driving a dangerous surge in poverty worldwide, affecting millions of lives across the globe.
In his message on the International Day for the Eradication of Poverty, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari stated that the struggle to end poverty, inequality, and social injustice will continue until these challenges are fully addressed. He reaffirmed that the slogan “Roti, Kapra aur Makan” reflects a practical commitment to public welfare rather than mere words.
He highlighted that the founder of the party, Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, and former prime minister Benazir Bhutto devoted their lives to fighting for the rights of the people. To combat poverty, the Benazir Income Support Programme was launched, which has now become one of the country’s most transparent and effective social protection systems.
Bilawal Bhutto Zardari further said that the Benazir Income Support Programme empowers women and supports families, breaking the cycle of poverty that affects generations.
He also emphasized that the international community must address the underlying issues that are pushing millions of people toward despair. He urged the world to rise above geographical divisions and take collective humanitarian action to build a just, equal, and sustainable global system.
