Islamabad: An important railway track upgradation project in Balochistan is expected to begin in April this year, aiming to improve rail infrastructure and enhance travel facilities across the province.
According to sources, the project encompasses a railway track spanning approximately 600 kilometers from Nokundi in Chaghi District to Sibi. Under the plan, the existing track will be upgraded to modern standards, improving train speed, safety, and overall operational efficiency.
The project is estimated to cost around 400 million dollars and is scheduled to be completed within three years. Upon completion, the upgrade is expected to make travel safer and more convenient for passengers while also improving the freight transportation system.
Sources said that the upgraded railway track will help connect remote areas of Balochistan more effectively with other parts of the country, contributing to regional development and boosting economic activity.
