Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Faisal Karim Kundi has said that the tragic Gul Plaza incident should not be turned into a political issue and stressed that such matters must be handled responsibly.
Speaking to the media at the Governor’s House, Faisal Karim Kundi stated that certain elements within political parties attempt to create divisions during such incidents. He added that blaming another provincial government over a single incident is not appropriate and emphasized that a complete and transparent inquiry into the Gul Plaza tragedy is currently underway.
Meanwhile, Karachi Mayor Murtaza Wahab visited the home of a family affected by the Gul Plaza tragedy, where he expressed sympathy with the victims. He said that he would not rest until the affected families are fully rehabilitated.
The mayor also assured the family of support for the restoration of their business and said that rescue personnel of the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation are still actively engaged in rescue operations at the site.
