Aleema Khan, sister of PTI founder Imran Khan, has alleged that Imran Khan is being kept in solitary confinement as a means of subjecting him to physical and mental torture. She claimed that these measures are being deliberately taken to exert pressure on him.
Speaking to the media at Marble Factory Naka along with her sisters, Aleema Khan said that meetings with Imran Khan are not being allowed, and that only around two dozen meetings have taken place over the past year, which she described as a matter of serious concern.
According to Aleema Khan, the police also denied Imran Khan’s sisters permission to meet him at Adiala Jail on Tuesday, adding that the last meeting was held on December 2. She further stated that lawyer Salman Safdar visited the jail on December 20 but was forcibly allowed to meet Imran Khan for only eight minutes.
She said that there was an assumption that the PTI founder could be portrayed as mentally unwell, but Imran Khan remains steadfast in prison for the sake of the nation. Aleema Khan reiterated that Imran Khan is being kept in solitary confinement in order to subject him to torture.
