In Islamabad, Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb has sought clarification from the Election Commission of Pakistan regarding funds required for holding local government elections in Punjab, Sindh, Balochistan, and Islamabad.
A meeting of the Cabinet’s Economic Coordination Committee (ECC), chaired by Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb, was held to review various financial matters. During the meeting, the Election Commission was asked to provide a detailed explanation regarding the allocation of funds for local government elections in the four regions.
The finance minister directed that a summary amounting to Rs450.5 million be resubmitted with complete details. The ECC also approved the transfer of goods confiscated by customs authorities to the Gilgit-Baltistan government.
In a separate meeting chaired by the finance minister, the procurement policy of the Export-Import Bank for the year 2025 was also approved. Officials briefed the meeting on the policy framework and future financial planning.
