The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has announced a public holiday across the province on the occasion of Kashmir Solidarity Day to express solidarity with the Kashmiri people.
According to a notification issued by the Additional Chief Secretary General, a one-minute silence will be observed across the province at 10:00 a.m. on February 5. Various programs will also be organized to show unity with the oppressed Kashmiri people.
The notification stated that all government offices, autonomous and semi-autonomous bodies, government corporations, and all public and semi-public educational institutions under the administrative control of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government will remain closed on the said date.
Earlier, the federal government had also announced a nationwide public holiday on Kashmir Solidarity Day. In its notification, the federal government confirmed that February 5, 2026, will be observed as a public holiday across the country.
Kashmir Solidarity Day is observed every year in Pakistan to express support for the Kashmiri people. On this day, special ceremonies, seminars, rallies, and prayer gatherings are held nationwide to reaffirm support for the right to self-determination of the Kashmiri people.
