Polling is underway for the annual elections of the Lahore High Court Bar, with members of the legal fraternity casting their votes to elect their representatives. The electoral process is proceeding in a peaceful environment, with a significant turnout of lawyers at polling stations.
Voting will continue without interruption until 5 pm, after which the counting process will begin. Arrangements have been made to ensure transparency and an orderly conduct of the elections.
A total of 32,488 lawyers are eligible to exercise their right to vote in this election. Strong participation from the legal community is being seen as crucial for determining the future leadership of the bar.
Eighteen candidates are contesting for four different positions, with expectations of a closely fought competition.
For the seat of president, a direct contest is taking place between Raja Aamir and Babar Murtaza, adding intensity to the election atmosphere.
