The United Kingdom has announced the suspension of student visas for citizens of four countries including Afghanistan as part of stricter immigration measures. Under the decision, new student visa applications from Afghanistan, Sudan, Cameroon, and Myanmar will not be accepted for the time being.
According to British media reports, the government has also warned that similar restrictions could be imposed on other countries if misuse of visa systems continues.
Reports indicate that work visas for Afghan citizens are also being gradually discontinued, which may limit employment opportunities for Afghans in the UK in the future.
The UK Home Secretary stated that the government is taking steps to restore stronger border control and has introduced emergency measures to prevent the misuse of visa routes.
Media reports suggest that the decision was largely driven by an unusual increase in asylum applications, prompting authorities to tighten immigration policies.
