Security operations carried out in the federal capital Islamabad and several nearby districts have led to the arrest of 86 Afghan nationals residing illegally in the country. The operations targeted sensitive areas, residential neighborhoods, and commercial centers where authorities conducted checks on residency records and identification documents.
According to security officials, the screening of undocumented Afghan nationals is ongoing, and detailed verification of residential records and identity documents is being carried out to identify individuals violating the law.
Authorities conducted screening operations in Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Murree, Jhelum, and Chakwal. During the operations, arrests were made for violations of tenancy laws while suspicious activities are also being investigated.
Officials stated that actions related to the arrest of proclaimed offenders and the recovery of narcotics and illegal weapons are also being carried out to strengthen law and order.
The operations involved police, lady police, Rangers, Elite Police units, Dolphin Squad, CTD personnel, and intelligence agencies. Authorities stated that actions against unregistered Afghan nationals will continue without discrimination.
