Economic activity in Pakistan continues to grow, with a steady increase in the registration of new companies across the country. Recent data indicates ongoing investment and expansion in the business sector.
According to the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan, a total of 3444 new companies were registered in February, bringing the total number of registered companies in Pakistan to 287049.
The data shows that 82 of the newly registered companies included foreign participation. Investors from China obtained directorships in 44 companies, while individuals from the United States, United Kingdom, Germany, Canada, and other countries also invested in various sectors.
SECP stated that foreign investors showed particular interest in the mining, trading, and information technology sectors. Provincially, the highest number of companies were registered in Punjab with 1696, followed by 656 in Islamabad and 555 in Sindh.
Sector wise analysis shows that 723 companies were registered in the IT and e commerce sector, while 531 companies were registered in trading, 434 in services, and 323 in real estate. Companies related to mining, textiles, education, healthcare, sports goods, cables, and electrical goods were also registered during the month.
