A red alert has been issued in the federal capital, Islamabad, due to security concerns, while several major roads in the city have been blocked with containers.
According to sources, police and other law enforcement agencies are on high alert due to the prevailing security situation, and security arrangements across the city have been tightened.
Sources said that the Inspector General of Islamabad Police, along with all Deputy Inspectors General and other senior officers, are personally present in the field and are overseeing the security arrangements.
Police are also conducting search operations in different areas of the city to prevent any potential security threats.
In addition, security checks at the entry and exit points of the federal capital have been further intensified to monitor suspicious activities.
Officials said that strict checking of vehicles is being carried out in areas including Gandam Godam, Iran Avenue, Rawat T Cross, and Bhara Kahu, while searches of suspicious individuals are also underway.
