All foreign airlines arriving in Pakistan have been instructed to carry sufficient fuel for their return journeys, as part of measures to manage fuel availability in the country.
The Pakistan Airports Authority has issued a formal NOTAM outlining the updated fuel policy and operational guidelines for airlines.
According to airline sources, a foreign airline flight from Karachi to Doha had to land in Muscat on Wednesday due to fuel constraints, highlighting the seriousness of the issue.
Sources further stated that due to the requirement of carrying extra fuel, foreign airlines are being forced to offload passenger baggage and cargo, which may impact travel convenience and commercial operations.
