According to an international news agency, Iran has rejected proposals put forward by the United States, stating that any ceasefire will only take place on Iran’s terms and that defensive operations will continue until those conditions are met.
Iranian officials said the US proposals were reviewed in detail but found to be unacceptable, adding that Iran cannot allow the US President to dictate the timeline for ending the conflict, and its position has been conveyed through regional intermediaries.
Officials stated that the first condition for a ceasefire is an immediate halt to attacks and the targeting of Iranian officials. Iran will continue its defensive actions.
They further emphasized that a ceasefire would depend on firm and guaranteed measures to prevent the resumption of conflict, along with assessment and compensation for damages caused in Iran.
Iran also demanded an end to the ongoing war against it and against resistance groups in the region and recognition of its sovereignty over the Strait of Hormuz.
A senior Iranian official stated that Pakistan was used to convey Iran’s initial response to the United States, highlighting Pakistan’s role in diplomatic communication.
Reports indicate that the US presented a 15-point proposal to Iran, including easing of sanctions, but Iran rejected these terms.
According to sources, the US proposals included ending Iran’s nuclear and missile programs, reopening the Strait of Hormuz, international monitoring of Iran’s nuclear activities, and potential civilian nuclear cooperation between the two countries.
