At least 9 people have lost their lives and 47 others have been injured in various rain-related incidents in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, raising concerns across the affected areas.
Rainfall continues intermittently across different parts of the country, with light to heavy showers reported in several districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, including Swat, Bannu, Hangu, Nowshera, Tank, Bajaur, Karak, Parachinar, Malakand, and both North and South Waziristan.
Due to the rains, roofs and walls of houses collapsed in several locations, resulting in multiple casualties and injuries. The injured have been shifted to nearby medical facilities for treatment.
According to the Provincial Disaster Management Authority, the deceased include 8 children and one woman, highlighting the severity of the incidents.
Additionally, at least 6 houses were partially or completely damaged, with most incidents reported from Bannu and North Waziristan.
The Meteorological Department has forecast intermittent rainfall in various districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa until Tuesday, urging citizens to take precautionary measures.
Meanwhile, rainfall was also recorded in several districts of Punjab, including Sargodha, Bhakkar, Lodhran, Vehari, Chiniot, Hafizabad, and Bahawalpur.
