Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan met Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, during which the Prime Minister reaffirmed Pakistan’s full solidarity with Saudi Arabia.
The meeting was attended by Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar and National Security Adviser Lieutenant General Muhammad Asim Malik, where bilateral relations and the regional situation were discussed.
According to the statement, the meeting took place in a cordial and friendly atmosphere, with detailed discussions on the current regional situation, peace, and stability. The Prime Minister also conveyed his best wishes to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz.
The statement added that the Prime Minister extended good wishes to Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and appreciated Saudi Arabia’s remarkable restraint during the ongoing crisis, also referring to his recent discussions with the Crown Prince.
The Prime Minister briefed the Saudi Foreign Minister on Pakistan’s diplomatic efforts during the current crisis, including attempts to bring the United States and Iran to the negotiating table.
According to the statement, the Prime Minister emphasized Saudi Arabia’s leadership role in the Muslim Ummah and highlighted the need for unity among Islamic countries.
The Saudi Foreign Minister thanked the Prime Minister and shared Saudi Arabia’s perspective on the regional situation. Both sides agreed to continue close coordination and joint efforts for peace and stability in the region.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif also met the foreign ministers of Türkiye and Egypt, where he warmly received the visiting dignitaries and discussed regional matters.
