Heavy rain and hailstorms across various parts of Balochistan have severely disrupted daily life, with flooding causing both human and financial losses.
In Quetta, strong winds accompanied by heavy rainfall affected routine life, while northern areas including Chaman, Qila Abdullah, and Ziarat experienced intense storms and hail, damaging orchards of apples, apricots, cherries, almonds, figs, plums, and pomegranates.
Flood-like conditions in Harnai, Chaman, Kalat, Surab, and other areas led to the closure of connecting roads, with several vehicles swept away by flash floods, disrupting transportation.
In Tehsil Gulistan, a passenger van and a truck were swept away by floodwaters, though 12 people were successfully rescued. In Harnai, passengers trapped in a vehicle jumped out to save their lives, while six trucks were also stranded in flood channels.
In Bolan and Bajaur, lightning strikes and roof collapses resulted in the deaths of five people, including women and children, highlighting the severity of the situation.
Meanwhile, rainfall was also recorded in parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, while in Bhakkar, a woman was killed and a child injured after a room roof collapsed due to rain.
