Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Navy has claimed that the strategic landscape of the Strait of Hormuz has permanently changed, stating that this key maritime route will no longer return to its previous state, particularly for the United States and Israel.
In a statement posted on the social media platform X, the IRGC Navy command said that the era of foreign dominance over this vital waterway has come to an end, and recent regional developments have significantly altered the balance of power.
The statement asserted that the influence of external powers, especially the United States, in waters near Iran has been reduced, and the situation in the Strait of Hormuz will no longer remain the same, particularly for the US and Israel.
The IRGC reaffirmed its commitment to safeguarding Iran’s sovereignty and regional security, stating that it will not yield to external pressure.
According to the IRGC, Iran is in the final stages of a comprehensive operational strategy aimed at establishing a locally managed security framework in the Persian Gulf to ensure regional stability.
Iranian officials stated that the responsibility for regional stability should lie with the countries of the region rather than external powers, while Iran has increased its naval presence, upgraded surveillance systems, and enhanced rapid response capabilities.
Iranian military leadership warned that any attempt by the United States or its allies to challenge this new reality would be met with an immediate and decisive response.
The statement comes after recent remarks by US President Donald Trump, who warned of strong action against Iran, including potential strikes on key facilities, if restrictions in the Strait of Hormuz continue.
