Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has formally requested US President Donald Trump to grant a two-week extension in the deadline, describing it as an important diplomatic move in the context of the current regional situation.
In a message shared on social media, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif stated that diplomatic efforts are progressing rapidly to achieve a peaceful resolution of the ongoing conflict in the Middle East, and there is a strong possibility that concrete results will emerge soon.
The Prime Minister urged the US President to extend the deadline by two weeks to allow diplomacy sufficient time to move forward effectively. As a gesture of goodwill, he also appealed to Iran to keep the Strait of Hormuz open for two weeks to help reduce tensions in the region.
Shehbaz Sharif further called on all parties involved to observe a complete ceasefire for at least two weeks, so that diplomatic efforts can succeed and pave the way for lasting peace and stability in the region.
