A White House spokesperson has stated that US President Donald Trump is fully aware of the appeal made by Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, and a response is expected soon.
White House spokesperson Karoline Leavitt, while speaking to US media, said that President Trump is reviewing the Pakistani Prime Minister’s request and an official response may be issued shortly.
Meanwhile, senior Iranian officials have also stated that Iran is reviewing the request made by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, and deliberations are ongoing.
It is worth noting that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif had requested US President Donald Trump for a two-week extension in the deadline. In a message shared on social media, he said that diplomatic efforts are progressing rapidly to achieve a peaceful resolution of the ongoing tensions in the Middle East, and positive results are expected soon.
The Prime Minister had urged the US President to extend the deadline by two weeks to allow diplomacy to proceed effectively, and as a gesture of goodwill, he also requested Iran to keep the Strait of Hormuz open for two weeks.
