Following the announcement of a two-week ceasefire, large numbers of people across Iran took to the streets and expressed their joy, creating a celebratory atmosphere throughout the country.
As soon as the ceasefire was announced, citizens came out holding national flags and chanting slogans, while people in various areas openly celebrated the development.
Women, children, the elderly, and youth all participated in the demonstrations in large numbers, and in several places, human chains were formed around key installations as a symbol of unity.
Meanwhile, Iranian musician Ali Ghamsari staged a sit-in outside the Damavand Power Plant and stated that he would use music as a means to call for an end to the attacks.
On the other hand, in Iraq’s capital, Baghdad, celebrations were also witnessed following the ceasefire announcement, as people came out of their homes late at night and welcomed the halt in the war imposed on Iran.
It is worth noting that earlier, as the US President’s deadline approached, Iranian citizens had also taken to the streets across the country to express their reaction to the situation.
