Islamabad: Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi held an important meeting with Field Marshal Asim Munir during his visit to Pakistan, where matters of mutual interest were discussed.
According to a statement issued by the Iranian Embassy, Abbas Araghchi held his first formal meeting with Field Marshal Asim Munir during the visit, marking a significant development in bilateral relations.
Sources said that the Iranian Foreign Minister is also scheduled to meet Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif at the Prime Minister’s House later today, with senior political and military leadership expected to attend along with the Iranian delegation.
According to reports, discussions will focus on Pakistan-Iran relations, the regional situation, and key diplomatic matters, while future engagements will also be considered.
Sources further stated that after the meeting, the Iranian delegation will travel to Muscat and Moscow to continue diplomatic engagements, and US authorities will also be briefed based on consultations held with Pakistan.
Iranian officials noted that the timing of Iran-US talks has not yet been finalized, but the overall situation is expected to become clearer following the visits to Muscat and Moscow.
