Differences between the government and the Pakistan Peoples Party over the federal budget remain unresolved, prompting PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari to postpone his speech in the National Assembly as a form of protest.
According to party sources, senior PPP leader Naveed Qamar briefed Bilawal Bhutto on various budget-related matters.
During the briefing, Bilawal was informed that the budget proposals and financial figures shared with the PPP during consultations differed significantly from those presented in the National Assembly.
Sources said the PPP leadership expressed concern over these discrepancies and decided to seek an immediate explanation from the government.
A high-level party team is expected to contact government representatives soon to discuss the differences and seek clarification.
As a result of these concerns, Bilawal postponed his scheduled speech on the budget debate in the National Assembly.
Political observers believe the disagreement could lead to further negotiations between key partners in the ruling coalition in the coming days.
