A delegation of Muttahida Qaumi Movement Pakistan met Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif in Islamabad and presented a number of political and administrative demands.
The MQM delegation included Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, Mustafa Kamal, Farooq Sattar and Ameen Ul Haque. Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar and Rana Sanaullah also attended the meeting.
According to party sources, MQM raised four major issues and sought a special development package for urban areas.
The discussions reportedly covered a proposed constitutional amendment regarding local governments, the issue of the Sindh governorship, the recovery of missing party workers and matters related to urban development.
MQM emphasized the need for greater federal support for development projects and stronger local government institutions.
Sources said Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif directed the formation of a committee to examine MQM’s proposed constitutional amendments and concerns regarding missing workers.
Both sides also agreed to continue consultations and maintain close coordination on the matters discussed.
