According to unofficial and provisional results from the second phase of elections for the Azad Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly, the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) has won 14 seats, while the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) has secured five.

Polling took place in eight constituencies of the Muzaffarabad division and 12 seats reserved for refugees. Voting in constituency LA-27 was postponed after severe weather conditions and landslides prevented election staff and materials from reaching polling stations.

The results indicate that the PML-N performed strongly in constituencies across Neelum Valley, Muzaffarabad, Jammu and Kashmir Valley seats, while the PPP also managed to secure several important victories.

PPP candidate Sardar Mukhtar Khan won in LA-29, while PML-N candidates emerged victorious in LA-30, LA-31 and LA-32.

In Neelum Valley, Shah Ghulam Qadir of the PML-N won LA-25, whereas PPP candidate Mian Abdul Waheed secured victory in LA-26.

The PML-N also maintained a strong position in refugee constituencies, winning the majority of seats allocated to migrants from Jammu and Kashmir.

Election officials said that a new polling date for constituency LA-27 would be announced later.

The results have strengthened the PML-N’s position to form the next government, although the final political picture will become clear only after the official announcement of results.
