A British news agency has reported, citing unnamed sources, that the United States has experienced a significant reduction in its stockpile of long-range precision-guided missiles following recent military operations against Iran.
According to the report, the United States used a large number of precision-guided weapons during the conflict, raising concerns about the availability of these systems for future operations.
The sources claimed that if President Donald Trump were to authorise a broader military campaign against Iran, the US military might have to rely more heavily on air strikes and bombing missions.
US officials quoted in the report said dwindling missile reserves could also affect Washington’s ability to deter rivals such as Russia and China.
The report further stated that Vice President JD Vance and military advisers had recently expressed concerns about the country’s weapons inventory and the security of US allies in the Gulf region.
According to the sources, American military bases in Jordan, Kuwait, Bahrain and the United Arab Emirates could also face potential threats in the event of further escalation.
The US government has not yet issued an official response to these claims, and the reports have not been independently verified.
