Pakistan’s new electricity tariff could stand at Rs27.31 per unit from January 1, 2027.
The electricity purchase price in Pakistan could rise to Rs27.309 per kilowatt-hour, or unit, in 2027.
Under its base-case estimate for the upcoming tariff review, the Central Power Purchasing Agency has projected total electricity purchase costs of Rs3.55 trillion.
These estimates form part of the tariff review process for consumers of the former WAPDA electricity distribution companies. The revised rates are expected to take effect on January 1, 2027.
The process will determine the revised reference cost used to calculate electricity rates for the new period. Consumer tariffs will then be set on that basis.
