Karachi: Provincial Minister of Information, Sharjeel Memon, has stated that the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) has given Karachi an infrastructural boost. Various schemes have been introduced in Karachi to address the water shortage issue, and work is also underway on the Karachi Circular Railway project.
The PPP Minister further stated that today, the People’s Party’s mayor is being elected. Hafiz Naeemur Rahman should accept defeat today. The Jamat-e-Islami, which had supported them during the May 9 elections in Pakistan, is now demanding their accountability. The seeds of hatred and division that were sown in the country are now being faced.
Sharjeel Memon mentioned that the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has caused damage to institutions, the economy, and the Kashmir cause. In the 75-year history of Kashmir, it has not suffered as much damage as it has under their rule. Innocent people are in jails due to their wrong policies. A child does not become a terrorist by birth; there are some individuals who become radicalized.
He further stated that peaceful protests can be held, but the Sindh government will not allow the law to be taken into their own hands. If the Jamat-e-Islami spreads unrest, the law will come into action.
