Lahore: Due to continuous heavy rainfall, roads and streets have turned into ponds in the provincial capital Lahore and its surrounding areas. Water has entered homes and shops.
Various areas of Punjab, including Lahore, have experienced torrential downpours, leading to low-lying areas being submerged. Jauhar Town, Gulberg, Ghazi Road, Lakshmi Chowk, and Tajpura have witnessed heavy rain.
Jail Road received 83 millimeters, Airport 84 millimeters, Gulberg 87 millimeters, Lakshmi Chowk 152 millimeters, Upper Mall 95 millimeters, Mughalpura 91 millimeters, Tajpura 128 millimeters, Nishtar Town 151 millimeters, and Chowk Nakhuda received 64 millimeters of rain.
In Sialkot and its surrounding areas, the heavy rain resulted in flooded roads and streets turning into ponds. Meanwhile, the heavy rainfall caused flash floods in streams and nullahs, leading to disruptions in electricity supply. Additionally, in Ghaziabad, water entered homes and shops.
In Lahore, the accumulated rainwater is affecting traffic flow on several main roads, including Shahdra, Timber Market, Lari Ada, Sabzi Mandi, Shahdra Farooqabad, Jain Mandir Chowk, Choburgi, Walton Road, Lawrence Road, Neepaer Chowk, Qurtaba Chowk, Achhrah, and Walton Road. Many motorcycles and cars got stuck in the water.
