Lahore Amir Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan,Siraj ul Haq, made a formal declaration regarding a planned sit-in to be staged outside the Governor House in Karachi on the 6th of October.
Amir Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan Siraj ul Haq said in a media interview that the path to stability passes through the polling station and those who talk about improving the economy are afraid of defeat. The Election Commission should give the date of the elections and the elections should be clean and transparent rather than decoration.
He said that the caretaker government does not have the authority to make decisions regarding policy matters and is more concerned with the interests of international financial institutions like the International Monetary Fund (IMF) than the welfare of the nation.
Siraj ul Haq stated that imposing 15 different taxes in electricity bills is an injustice to the public, and it was believed that the caretaker government would review IPP agreements. He emphasized that they consider struggling for the issues of the poor as a jihad fi sabilillah (struggle in the way of Allah) and announced a historic sit-in outside the Governor House in Karachi on October 6th.
Earlier, Siraj ul Haq had mentioned that there is no justification for delaying the elections, and if the elections are held promptly, the path of substantial public, democratic, and peaceful resistance will be chosen.”
