LESCO employees’ actions are making life increasingly difficult for poor citizens. On one hand, the exorbitant electricity rates are unbearable, and on the other, hefty bills are being sent by adding extra units and changing slabs.
Despite the high cost of electricity, LESCO employees are adding 50 to 100 extra units to consumers’ bills to change their slabs. This is just one issue; there are even more troubling cases. For instance, Syed Ali Shah, a resident of Allama Iqbal Town, found his online bill to be Rs. 11,024. However, upon payment through the bank, he discovered the bill had soared to Rs. 57,910. Additionally, 28 extra units were added to his bill.
Another resident, Syed Imran Shah from Allama Iqbal Multan Road Gulshan Abbas Feeder, received a bill of Rs. 56,419. Shockingly, this bill included 68 extra units beyond the meter reading, resulting in a slab change.
LESCO consumers have appealed to Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi and LESCO authorities to take immediate action to relieve poor citizens from this suffering.
