Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi will visit Pakistan on August 21, following an invitation from Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, the Foreign Office spokesperson confirmed. During his visit, the sixth round of the Pakistan-China Foreign Ministers’ Strategic Dialogue will be held in Islamabad, co-chaired by Wang Yi and Ishaq Dar.
According to the spokesperson, this visit marks an important opportunity to further enhance high-level exchanges and deepen bilateral relations between the two countries. Discussions will also focus on strengthening trade, economic, and development cooperation.
It is worth recalling that on July 16, 2025, Ishaq Dar met Wang Yi on the sidelines of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Conference in Tianjin. During that meeting, the two sides discussed matters of mutual interest, including the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC). On the occasion, Ishaq Dar congratulated China on the successful hosting of the SCO Foreign Ministers’ meeting and expressed gratitude for the warm hospitality.
Both leaders expressed satisfaction over the close cooperation in various sectors and stressed the importance of strengthening the all-weather strategic partnership between Pakistan and China to ensure sustainable peace and development in the region.
